The animated action movie KPDH, which Netflix quietly released in June, has emerged as the year’s largest cultural hit. Sony, with minimal faith, sold the film to the streamer during development, similar to other Netflix exclusives without a built-in fanbase, it launched with little promotion. Quality prevailed: KPop Demon Hunters became Netflix’s biggest movie ever with predictions pointing to sweep the 2026 Oscars in animated feature and best song categories. Yet before that, it’s targeting complete October 31 takeover.
Drawing from the countless outfits worn by pop groups Huntr/x (“Huntrix”) and the Saja Boys in the movie, it might have been obvious. But it wasn’t until joining a Netflix theatrical singalong where crowds of all ages belted out the hit single “Golden” did it hit me: Absolutely, it’s happening. KPop Demon Hunters characters are set to invade local neighborhoods during Halloween evening.
A brief Etsy search reveals the KPDH costume economy working overtime. Inexpensive Baby Saja wigs are selling rapidly via sites such as AliExpress. Everything you’d imagine is available, including cozy versions of Derpy the blue demon tiger. Yet Netflix should be commended: While the company may not have predicted the KPop craze before release, Netflix’s own shop is loaded with premium outfits and collectibles, along with one product so outrageous it merits a mention.
Wow
Priced at $39.95, and offered in sizes XS to XXL, the KPop Demon Hunters “Abby Saja Abs” T-shirt features a startlingly precise rendering of the ripped Saja Boys idol’s abdominal muscles. Sporting this October 31, anticipate onlookers doing double-takes.
The big question among KPDH enthusiasts is whether costume seekers have enough time to gather components. The official Netflix Shop guarantees delivery in 5–8 business days, or faster 3–5 day shipping. That’s ample time—for now. With international tariffs and shipping delays rendering Chinese site deliveries unreliable, the streamer could be the safest bet unless an Etsy seller guarantees delivery within 27 days.
Still, seasoned cosplayers insist: There’s time to craft it yourself! Social media tutorial makers are producing how-to guides nonstop. Frankly, the Abby Saja abs look might equal the KPDH equivalent of a cringey vintage T-shirt—extremely awkward rather than hilariously funny. We’ll have to wait and see. For a safer choice, try a homemade Rumi wig instead.
